Our Group Personal Training Sessions (aka the Cheshire 100) are some seeing some fantastic results. We caught up with one of our longest standing members, Helen Crowther to get the low down on some of the great results she’s seeing.
How long have you been attending group training sessions with the Cheshire 100?
I started group training with the Cheshire 100 in January 2018, so it’s now 19 months!
What made you join a group session as opposed to 121 personal training?
As much as I’d always wanted to have a personal trainer, I never could have afforded 121 training so group sessions were the ideal way for me to have the attention of a trainer but at a cost I could afford.
What were your personal goals at the beginning (i.e. weight loss, tone, build muscle and strength?)
I’ve always trained but had very much got stuck in a rut and wasn’t making any progress, which was very frustrating. In retrospect this was probably due to me not pushing myself, and also because at my age strength training is really important and I was concentrating on cardio.
My goals when starting with the Cheshire 100 were to see some benefits for all of my hard work – in terms of weight loss, toning and strength. I wanted to feel better about myself and dare I say it, look a little younger?!
What results have you seen since starting the training?
It’s like the difference between night and day! My body shape has changed significantly, I’ve lost weight and I can wear clothes that I’ve not worn for years and feel good in them! So many people have noticed the difference in me, which is great for my confidence. I feel so much fitter and healthier, and I’ve definitely got more energy.
What do you like best at Ultimate Fitness Cheshire?
I suppose the thing I like the most is the results! What I didn’t expect is the difference it would make to my sense of well-being, and that’s not just because I feel better physically but it’s also the social side of things too. I’ve always been a bit of a solo exerciser, so didn’t expect to enjoy training with others as much as I do. It’s such a great group and we all support each other, we’re a little family – but one who welcomes new people with open arms! We’re also starting to do more out of the gym too, a group of us recently took part in a Raft Race (which we won by the way…) and we have others planned, not all fitness related!
What would you say to anyone who is considering joining the Cheshire 100?
I’d say to come along, try out a session and see what you think! When I joined I was worried about affording £100 per month, but I can honestly say it’s the best money I spend out of my wages. I can’t think what else you can get for £25 a week that can have such a huge impact on every part of your life, it really is money well spent. You really can’t put a price on your health.
